When you’re looking for a one night stand, you might be surprised at all the random stuff about women you pick up. One of the things we’ve picked up is that women are surprisingly into the whole jewelry thing. They’re pretty enthusiastic not only about wearing jewelry themselves, but in getting men to wear it as well. A lot of women prefer men who are willing to adorn themselves a little bit. The downfall, of course, is that some men go overboard in the wrong way—you don’t want to be caught wearing something women think is unsexy. Here’s the jewelry you want to avoid:

Belly Button Rings

We have no idea why, but some men out there are attempting to “reclaim” the belly button ring. Do not even attempt to reclaim the belly button ring. We never had it in the first place, so we don’t need to claim it again. Let women have the belly button ring. It looks sexy on them, and we don’t have to worry about having a piercing that falls right under the belt buckle. We haven’t had one on our team, but it’s safe to say we never will.

Lip Piercings

There are some piercings that only look good on a certain type of guy. Lip piercings are different—they only look good to a certain type of girl. A stud in the middle of the bottom lip is one thing, but the full-on ring in one side of the mouth just looks to most people like you’re trying too hard to be edgy, or that you’re going to catch it on something and it’s going to be an embarrassing, bloody mess. Skip this one unless you don’t care that you’re going to turn off a lot of women.

Necklaces

Certain kinds of necklaces are okay. Dog tags and a pendant that means something to you are those necklaces, as long as they’re on a chain or a length of rope. No seashells, no lacy stuff, and no flowers. Necklaces are something that most men can’t pull off and still look manly, so unless you’re really confident and don’t mine people side-eyeing your choices in fashion jewelry, give this one a pass.

Dangling Earrings

Cuff earrings and a certain amount of studs are okay. What you don’t want to do is go all the way to a pair of dangly earrings. Simply no man looks good in these, except maybe to other men. In general, you’re not signaling that you’re available for a date. This is just one of the biggest “no” answers we’ve ever given, and it’s a firm one. If you’re going to go for earrings, stick to cuffs, and hopefully stick up in the cartilage. Studs are OK. In fact, if you have more studs, it’s better. You just don’t want to be the guy with the earrings that are just wrong. That’s one of the surest ways to turn off a girl that we can think of.
