Having Pets Around Your One Night Stands: Dos and Don’ts
Having pets can be a blessing and a curse for your love life. On one hand, they’re a great way to get your date interested, a great way to make her think you’re a good guy without any extra work, and a great conversation starter. On the other hand, they can definitely be an additional hassle during the actual act itself. We’ll give you the Dos and Don’ts of having pets around your one night stand.
DO: Show ONE picture
It’s a great idea to show your date a picture of your pet. This works well with just about any animal. She’ll think that you’re an animal lover, and you get to show off someone she’ll get to meet later. That’s a great way to lead the conversation into sexier territory than Mr. Fluffs. However, make sure that you stop at one. Otherwise, you’re walking the line of becoming That Guy Who Loves His Pet Too Much, and that’s not something you want to do.
DON’T: Forget to Clean the Hair
Pets are great to have, but they’re also a mess. They’re a mess that is going to be a big problem for you if you don’t make sure to clean up every last hair. If there are a couple hairs left over, that’s fine – just make sure that you use that as an opportunity to lead in to that one picture you can show her. That way, you’re making conversation naturally instead of trying to force it. Lint rollers are your friends – she might be wearing a little black dress, and she’s not going to want to hug you hello if you’re covered in pet hair. This goes for your home as well – and you want her to take off her clothes and get comfortable.
DO: Introduce Them As Soon As You Get Home
When you show up to your house (if you decide to hook up at your house), make sure you introduce your pet. Don’t make a big thing out of it, especially if you’re the owner of a hard-to-locate pet. If your pet is easy to locate, however, make sure that you make it a priority to introduce it to your date. This is an easy way to break the ice, and it will mean that you’re easy to approach from her point of view.
DON’T: Let Them Watch
Pets are absolutely fantastic for getting you that first introduction, but that’s just about where it should all end. Your fluffy friend doesn’t need to see what you get up to on the nights when the two of you aren’t watching a movie together. In fact, if you let your pet into the bedroom, it’s likely that you’re not going to get lucky at all. The woman you’re with might not say anything right at first, but she’ll definitely be feeling uncomfortable, which is NOT how you want her to be feeling when you’re trying to get her to loosen up.
